Human Resources in 2012: Predictions from NuView Systems CEO

NuView Systems would like to wish all of our readers a Happy New Year. As we are now a few days into 2012, we thought to ask NuView Systems CEO Shafiq Lokhandwala if he had any predictions in mind for the human resources space in the upcoming year.

Below is a list of Shafiq’s Top Predictions for Human Resources and HR Technology in 2012:

1) The United States is projecting a 2 to 3 percent growth, while Europe is due to see a flat one percent growth. BRIC (Brazil, Russia, India, and China) countries should see the highest amount of growth, at 8-10 percent.  I believe that companies will continue to expand from developed economies into developing economies.

2) Companies that spread their product distribution to emerging markets will reduce the dependence on a single sovereign economy.

3) HR solutions that unify all employees under a single platform will continue its momentum.

4) Localization needs will continue to arise for companies expanding internationally. This will spur demand for more complex solutions that can accommodate these needs.

5) The calculus for purchasing new on-premise software will be challenged.

6) Cloud-based solutions will retain momentum. If a security breach occurs, the pendulum will swing back to on-premise (in-control) software.

7) Usability will increase with solutions being deployed to mobile and tablet devices.

8) Social media hype will give way to measured connectivity where it can be demonstrated that connections lead to business productivity.

What are your predictions for human resources and HR technology in 2012? Do you agree with the projections Shafiq forecasted? We encourage you to share your thoughts in our Comments section.
